Azerbaijan: new tutorial on sustainable forest management discussed by experts

A new tutorial on sustainable forest governance in Azerbaijan and its ecological particularities has been discussed during a recent seminar for improving the qualifications of forest sector employees. The development of forest education in Azerbaijan is one of the priorities of the EU-funded ENPI Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) programme.

Given the importance of the tutorial, a decision was taken to trial the tutorial during annual training courses on improving the qualifications of forest development enterprise employees, which take place this month. The training courses are carried out by ENPI FLEG experts and employees of the Forest Department. Participants will be from more than 35 forestry enterprises from various regions in Azerbaijan.
 
The €6 million ENPI Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) programme supports governments, civil society and the private sector in the development of sound and sustainable forest management practices, including the prevention of illegal forestry activities. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
