EuropeAid Feature - Education Enhancement Programme in Egypt

The Government of Egypt still faces several deficiencies in terms of achieving universal primary education. Over the last few years, Egypt has increased its resources for education but only to a limited extent. In some governorates low enrolment of girls, low student performance and lack of human and financial resources remain key challenges to achieving universal primary education. European Commission funding to the Government of Egypt aims to improve the primary education system, focusing on less educationally-privileged geographical areas and on progress towards the goal of universal primary education.
