The EU-funded Montada project, implemented in the framework of the Euromed Heritage IV programme, is organising a training course on "Traditional building techniques: Coatings and washes of Lime” in the Moroccan city of Salé from 8 to 11 May 2012.

The event organised in Salé is a theoretical and practical training, supervised by an expert from the School of Avignon in France. It is aimed at artisans specialised in traditional construction, as well as restorers of old buildings, architects, students of the training centre of the built heritage in Salé.

The objective of this training is to reclaim the knowledge of techniques in connection with the use of traditional materials, in order to use them again daily for work construction, especially in rehabilitation.

Funded by the EU under the EuroMed Heritage IV programme with a budget of €1.5 million over a period of three years, Montada, which is implemented in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, aims to promote traditional built heritage by strengthening its identity through appropriation by the population. EuroMed Heritage IV is a €17 million EU-funded programme which contributes to the exchange of experiences on cultural heritage, creates networks and promotes cooperation with the Mediterranean Partner Countries.  (EU Neighbourhood Info Centre)
